And right now, 1.10.2 just isn't there, and I doubt it every will be.Īnd the more we update, the more I feel like the overall game play, mod interaction, and cross compatibility are going to shit, all so that we can on the "newest version". I can appreciate all the new mods, and all the new content, but you know what, at the end of the day what I really want is for the "game play" to be better. And stuff that should work, still doesn't. I'm frustrated because I expected a hell of a lot more from 1.10.2 for all the hype, and after a year it still feels like a "Beta". Guess they just need to buy a new PC, right?Īnd yeah I'm dumping. Sucks to be the guy who doesn't have enough ram. It seems like pre-1.10.2 you didn't need 12gigs of ram and a super graphics card to play modded MC. Some will argue that the performance shift was worth the price, but I'm still not fully convinced of that either. Sorry but 1.10.2 doesn't have Buildcraft, doesn't have Witchery, Doesn't have Thaumcraft, and we came DAMN CLOSE to not having Thermal Expansion.Īnd for what: Polar Bears and Lamas!? A stupid house int he woods and psycho axe wielding villager.

I'm sorry but there's a difference between a healthy "pruning" of the mods between version, and just hitting the modding scene with a goddamn hatchet. Lets not even get started on all the content we're losing with these Rapid version changes. Oh we've got Ton's of "New Content" but half the damn time its hit or miss as to weather or not it will play nice with blocks from other mods.Īnd mods that did up date are STILL having bug issues. Simple shit that should work together DOESN'T. It just felt like a more cohesive whole, where nearly everything that should work together, DID.ġ.10.2 to me, even after being out for over a year, still feels like a damn beta test. You didn't have to worry about two different mods handling "item stacks" differently. Most metals and alloys could be created and cast in a Tinker's smelty. Cross mod compatibility was also a lot better. (For example: If you made a cast out of aluminum brass in Tinker's construct you knew you could melt it down for aluminum brass). But more importantly "Play wise" it is still the superior version.Įverything just seemed to work together in 1.7.10.

Content wise, the depth and variety are unmatched. I still think 1.7.10 is a better version than 1.10.2. So lets pick the best version of Minecraft and make it the best version of Modded MC that it can be. Personally I've always felt like Modded MC is its own game. Why follow the lead of a team of devs that don't care how the changes they make to the base game effect your mods. That makes sense.īut in the mean time why not just pick a stable version and stick with it.

MINECRAFT FEAR THE CRAFTING DEAD MODPACK 1.7.10 UPDATE

Now I can understand wanting to update because the base game makes some HUGELY beneficial change to how things work, render, ect. We're a small portion of its target audience. Minecraft doesn't care if the modding community around it dies. Its the most counter productive POV I've ever heard of. So why should the modding community have to keep up with a Base game that doesn't give one bit of a damn how the changes they make, effect the rest of the modding community. They are going to do what's best for "Minecraft" popper and to hell with anything else. Because Microsoft-Mojang doesn't give one flying FRAK about modded Minecraft. Here's one of my biggest reasons for being against going to the "Newest Version" as soon as it comes out.
